So this is my take on Apollo and Klavier's first battle in court. This runs through from the Opening Statements to Trucy's kidnapping. I think it would make sense for the next song to be about everything in the trial after that. This song would be Klavier making a perfect case as to why Wocky is the killer, and the next song would be about Apollo turning the tides in his favor by using his perception and destroying Wesley's testimony. If anyone has a better title than 'Defending a Gangster' feel free to suggest it.
General Music notes:
When writing the lyrics, I sort of imagined each character would sing in different styles with different melodies and stuff so these are the closest things I could find to what I imagined them sounding like
Klavier's lines sort of sounded kinda like the opening to Another One Bites the Dust by Queen at 0:29 only significantly faster and sounding more like his theme in game.
Wocky's rap was meant to sound like the character introductions of John Laurens, Lafayette, and Hercules Mulligan in Aaron Burr, Sir from Hamilton at about 1:31
Wesley's verse has a similar composition to Ragnar the Red from Skyrim but mixed with Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, K 525 Allegro
Lastly Apollo and Trucy's verses at the end share the style of the first two stanzas of Seventeen from Heathers
Klavier:
(Sung)
Welcome to the battlefield, we've got no time for games
A man has been shot though the head, we'll find the one to blame
So you bested my brother well, I read the full report
And now I'm here to test your skills and challenge you in court
Judge:
(Spoken)
Ah Mr. Gavin, it's been a while hasn't it? Have you been alright?
Klavier:
(Spoken)
Just fine, Herr Judge. I was just taking time to focus more on my band, the Gavinners. We actually have a concert coming up at the sunshine coliseum with some special guest appearances
Judge:
(Spoken)
Alright, enough to chit chat. Let's get down to business. Mr. Gavin. Please call your first witness
Klavier:
(Sung)
Well Murder's not a thing that people do just cause they can
There must have been a reason that somebody killed this man
So let's get that out of the way and that's easy because
The defendant wants to testify as to what his motive was
Wocky:
(Rapping)
Yo y-y-yo
My name is Wocky Kitaki
I'm the flyest g around
I'm keeping up the gangsta life
To keep our name in town
And it hurts
To see a king pin mob boss peddling desserts
That's why I go extra hard On everything that I do
Now let me lay down the story for everybody who
Wears ties 'round their collars (pronounced callas)
Aughta know
we was tusstlin with the famly Rivales
One day I went in hot
Then I went and got shot
My pops rushed me over to the family doc
And this quack doc
Did a Wack job
I can't just back off
We didnt even discovered til we was footin the bill
That's ill
I keep it rea
l So what if I jacked a pistol and went in for the kill?
Klavier:
(Spoken)
Let's move on to our next witness. Don't want you climbing the stairway to heaven before your trials over now do we?
Wocky:
(Spoken)
What do you mean homie?
Klavier:
(Spoken)
That botched surgery you so proudly testified about? If not removed could prove fatal.
Wocky:
(Spoken)
Wha-!
Apollo:
(Spoken)
Wait! I didn't cross-examine yet!
Klavier:
(Spoken)
Do you spot any contradictions?
Apollo:
(Spoken)
Well, uh... no
Klavier:
(Spoken)
In that case the prosecution calls Wesley Stickler to the stand to testify about what he saw on the night of the murder. Wesley?
Wesley:
(Sung)
Ah yes I remember
'Twas that boy indeed
With pistol in hand
Did the most foul deed
I yelled out "Halt villains"
Yes that's what I said
But Wocky just shot the man
In his forehead
Apollo:
OBJECTION!
(Spoken)
But the autopsy showed that he was shot in his right temple!
Klavier:
OBJECTION!
(Spoken)
Like your one to talk about that, Herr Forehead. When Wesley shouted, he must have turned his head.
Wesley:
(Spoken)
Indeed! That is precisely what transpired
Apollo:
(Spoken)
Oh. Well, what did you do after that?
Wesley:
(Spoken)
I called the police on my cell phone
Apollo:
(Sung)
It can't be
We're finished
That testimoniy's fine
Trucy:
(Sung)
No don't be
Diminished
There must be a fault line
Apollo:
(Sung)
Theres no way to save him
This feels just like a dream
Someone come and wake me up
I feel I'm gonna
Trucy:
(Screams)
AAAAAAHHHH!!!!
Tht's what I've written so far anyways!! Tell me what you think
