So I sat down and wrote stuff. The first half is Diana's and apollojustice4all's lyrics. The melody was also by Diana. Excuse my lack of accompaniment. I can't play piano. drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw5TxekJBufSUS01TUVPLWwyNm8/view?usp=sharingLYRICS: APOLLO: Up at the crack of dawn I think my brain just stifled a yawn Barely slept a wink I just could get my brain not to think What might happen if I fail What will my client do? But I know I will prevail I will see this case through It's my very first day, and my very first trial I'll do it my way, with my very own style If I make a mistake, it could mean the end, no! If I'm filled with doubt then I'll just pretend That no matter what comes down the line I just know I'm gonna be fine Whether it's my first or five hundredth day Here comes Justice! With a capital J! Fifteen minutes 'til they open the door I've gotta win the day But my hands are shaking and my throat is aching What if things don't go my way? I was up all night and I know that Wright Didn't do the things they say I'll be fine, right on time, I will shine And I'll do it my way! So I will win this trial Unmask all the lies, and I'll do it with style I've got all the facts, and I'll fight to the end I'm prepared to go I don't have to pretend Even if I'm caught in a bind I know that I just have to find Contradictions, they won't get in my way Here comes Justice! KRISTOPH: Justice. APOLLO: AAH! With a capital J.

First you are a good singer I really like this. The first verse feels a bit slow, but I'm assuming when the accomp is in it'll work a lot better. the "That no matter what comes down the line" verse is my favourite, though idk why Also the ending is great. I'm not sure we'll be able to have the full impression of this without a backing track though, do you have any thoughts on it yet?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!That's AWESOME!
I love it all! If it wouldn't be a bother, is love to try and write some chords to go with this. They prob'ly won't be all that good, but it would be a nice way to start! Someone else who has more music theory experience could brush it up from there.

Honestly, reading sheet music and learning about chords on the most basic level have each helped the other get way better in the past year.
I've gone ahead and started, and I'll post it in a bit. But I'm having trouble resolving a few places in a way that feels right...
Also, LOTS of A chords.

...I JUST FIGURED OUT WHY I'M STRUGGLING SO MUCH. This is in the key of A, not D! That's why the E major chord fits so nicely. XD
I'm making pretty good progress... I'd like to try and get chords fleshed out for the whole thing tonight. We'll see how that goes, though. XD

Whoo, got it! There are some chords I wouldn't mind messing around with but I think it should be fairly solid! This is a recording of it. Sorry I kinda fell completely out of tune at the end there... Heh. Also it got really quiet halfway through? Did you guys want to know the actual chords?

HELLO FRIENDS!! I'm back whoops I can record a piano backing for this over the next week or so. You did a good job figuring out the chords, Lumos! There's a few that are not quite correct, but overall you got it! My recording setup spits out sheet music based on what I play, so I'll post that along with any piano bits I put up.

Okay! So here's what I've got: drive.google.com/open?id=0B4ZHFwF8lemrNXJ1ZlZDRVdsUVkThe folder contains a vocal demo, the piano only track, and sheet music for anyone who wants it. The sheet music, however, is a complete and utter mess, because Garageband assumes I am recording in the key of C (and I have no idea where the settings are), so there's lots of irregulars floating around. I may have changed the melody a little from Kai's recording, but I think Kai's version can be sung over most of it! There are some changes that were deliberate and some I made because I couldn't remember how parts went. Whhooops. If you guys want to post this on the Tumblr, I do ask that someone else record a vocal track for it, and that my tumblr username (dianapocalypse) is included in the post somewhere. Thanks!!

... I'm not even through this, but it's INCREDIBLE! Wow, I can't believe that you took rough chords and fleshed it out into a full piano accompaniment in a day! This is just awesome. As for Garageband, I might be able to help with that, actually! If you're using desktop, the key should be in that LED-esque setup where it shows the measures and the tempo and everything, and you can change it by clicking on it. For mobile, it's under settings. By going to song settings and clicking on the key, it allows you to change the key. Man, I can't get over how awesome this is.

I'm so glad you guys like it!! I'll try to jot down the chords later for everyone's reference.
I did have some thoughts while I digested this overnight! I feel like the song, as it is, is a little too short and one-note. I feel like, as an opening number, it falls a little short of what it should be. I have a proposal!
We could move Apollo showing up at the courthouse and seeing Kristoph to the middle (the first "here comes justice") and have Kristoph have a little interlude there. I have ideas for how it would sound, but I'm falling short on coming up with lyrics. But he's basically giving Apollo his version of a 'pep talk'. Then we go back into the second half of the song from there.
I also feel like it should have some chorus/crowd parts, but I'm struggling to figure out a logical way to work that in. Let me know what you guys think!
(Also, thank you for your compliments!! <3 Haha, Lumos, don't be too impressed--I was working off the chords I wrote for the song when I first posted it, so I didn't pull these TOTALLY out of thin air, haha. I've had this song kicking around for years. Plus, Garageband lets me sound way better at piano than I am, because I can delete all the wrong notes I hit LOL. I assure you I am a hack and a fraud))

OK, i can help with that! If you give me an ideal melody line I can come up with lyrics.

Ooh! What if we tried to tie this in with the beginning of the trial? Like, steal what MadFox has got for "The Fallen Attorney" and make a quick key change into minor while the trial starts and Apollo doubts himself again, but then back into major when he gathers his resolve, and then ends with a really loud note (And then we can play that "Stop shouting, you're way too loud" joke, too! Spoken, though.) (I will always be impressed because I can't even flesh chords out into a bass line yet. XD Though, I appreciate the editing capabilities of Garageband to the fullest.

(Also, I'll definitely play around with some lyrics this weekend, too, going with the melodies we already have figured out and some variations on them.)
