I bet Apollo is basically this dorky nerd. Who's 200% done with everything.

Here's a question: is Apollo motivated by his desire to find the truth, his desire to defend his clients, or his desire to fulfill the law?

Here's a question: is Apollo motivated by his desire to find the truth, his desire to defend his clients, or his desire to fulfill the law? That's a good question. I would lean towards fufilling the law... But not in a bad way. He does care about all three. Obviously, the truth is immensely important to him, otherwise he never would have turned on Kristoph or gotten so angry when he found out about the forged card. It's always a priority for him, however, I don't think it's the top. The truth is sorta a given for Apollo, because he's not working with prosecutors like the trilogy. Klavier also is very fair and wants to see the right verdict handed down. Instead of struggling against corruption, Apollo's always blessed with the knowledge that the truth will eventually come out as long as he works hard. It's his goal, but he doesn't talk about it all that much. Similarly I don't think it's about the clients. Unlike Mia or Phoenix, Apollo doesn't spend time waxing poetic about those who have no one on their side and how he can help them by believing in them no matter what! Apollo is the most realistic lawyer in the series. He's also a more pragmatic person. Of all of our lawyers, he's literally the only one who chose his career just because he loves the law (gasp!) To him, being a lawyer is just a job. Getting the right verdicts is just what he's supposed to do. He operates on a strong sense of justice more than he does on his emotions. It may seem simple, but Apollo doesn't want that much in life. He wants to do what he does, be good at what he does and be respected. This isn't to say that he's emotionless, far from it. He's still really hotheaded and brash, but unlike Phoenjx, he doesn't form the connection first. Phoenix defends Edgeworth because he (loves) values him as a friend. Phoenix gets drawn in by Ema's story and how similar it is to Maya's and defends Lana because of that. Apollo defends Vera because he's told to, he defends Machi because the kid is obviously innocent. He makes the emotional connection later as he works with them. He's way more professional. Apollo is honestly the lawyer I could see most working as an actual real world lawyer. Phoenix is so idealistic he would've been run out of the career at the start. Mia probably coulda held her own just fine tbh and good luck getting actual courts to listen to Athena's emotion hearing bullshinto. Apollo though definitely I think would defend a guilty client if that was his job. He'd never get them off, but he'd fight for a reduced sentence or whatever he thought was just. Y'know, like a real actual lawyer.

10/10.
I mean, he never believes in his clients at first. Wocky, Damian Tenma, Athena... Not super enthusiastic about that whole belief thing.
He's only interested in finding the truth if he can do it legally, I think. Turnabout Trump showed that. He has a strong sense of duty, and is easily irritated by people who don't. Just look at his reaction to Ema and Trucy trying to eat fruit from the scene of the crime, and his attitude towards Klavier in general XD
